Balancing Your At-Home Business Career and Children
The dogs are barking, the dishes are dirty, and your two year old needs a nap. You start to wonder “why am I working from home?” It is days like these that your sanity is holding on by a thread.
So how do stay at home mothers do it? I get this question alot. How do I balance the housework, the babies, and the career? It isn’t easy! But who said I liked it easy!
My husband and I chose for me to stay at home with the babies because daycare was not an option. All of those little opportunities I have to see them grow up I didn’t want to miss. I would have felt incredibly unfulfilled missing those joys of life.
I had to work from home because of lack of options. We had very little money because of my husband’s job. The economy shifted and his hours were declined as a result. On the side he would fix tractors but it wasn’t helping us make our bills.
This was not how we wanted to live. We needed change. We needed to replace his income. We had dreams to fulfill, goals to acheive. That is when I decided to step up and make a difference.
Working at home was my only option. I was not going to spend a bunch of time away from my loved ones for money. It was just not worth it for me. So, I chose a network marketing business I new I could love and had a low start up. Something that could truly help my family and I.
So, how do I do it?
First, you need to balance yourself. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Your goals will only get accomplished if you take them bit by bit.
Second, what can you sacrifice? Certain habits might be taking time and money away from yourself. Nails, hair, expensive hobbies, coffee drinks. Are these things worth it?
Third, where are your priorities? Do your children come first or money? DO NOT work so hard providing for your family that you forget your family!
Most people in the network marketing business say: if you want to make an income you need to give it 100% or treat it as a full-time job. But if you are a stay at home mom/dad that is not an option. Yes, it will take you longer to make money but the end result will be so much more gratifying.
